A contemporary & minimalist school centered on kids

Camden Station Elementary

…located in Oldham County, Kentucky, is all about the kids that attend school there. We wanted to create spaces that were contemporary and minimal, yet use small doses of punchy color to stimulate the creative minds of young children. The lobby floor pattern is a working maze for little ones to navigate as they make their way through the space.

Bright, saturated colors are littered throughout the building and show up in some unexpected locations – the gymnasiums ductwork, the bulkhead in the library, as well as lining the back of the cubbies in the classrooms.

Classroom hallways are split up into three main colors (yellow, green, and orange) to help children with wayfinding.
