A grown-up aesthetic for a non-traditional high school

Arvin Education Center

…serves as a magnet, of sorts, for high school students in Oldham County, Kentucky. Students from schools within the county spend two school periods a day at this specialized education center. Courses range from nursing, automotive, engineering to culinary arts to name a few.

The concept for this renovation was more of a grown-up aesthetic than a traditional high school. We wanted this to be an environment that was not distracting to the integral purpose of learning but still had pops of interest. The color-blocking of blues & greens layered with other neutral finishes kept the spaces relevant for the students & teachers alike.
